March Beauty and the Blooms

March winds are already blowing, and some blooms have already begun to sprout. If you are an allergy sufferer like me, you know Spring is near and you have to deal with the beauty and the beast of it all. I prefer the beauty and the blooms of the season. I’ve learned to enjoy bringing in the look and feel of natural elements into my home and office spaces to enjoy beautiful florals and the look of spring without having to search for my allergy meds. Let’s explore how you too can bring in springtime into your personal and work environments. Using organic and Mother Nature’s gifts are always the best practice if used appropriately and with environmentally friendly intent. However, if you have medical or personal reasons that prevent you from bringing in live plants, trees or greenery, there are lifelike plant options that are a great option to help you achieve your spring oasis. If you haven’t read the previous blog post, It’s Only Natural To Be Egg-cited To Hop Into Spring, please take a moment to read it and be inspired by the natural design elements I used in my dining room. The next space to get updated with beauty and blooms is the family room.

Hiding In the Blooms

Beyond the beautiful flowers are green flocked rabbits sitting upon crystal stands to give them a better view of the space. Each stand is a different height to give the illusion of the bunnies hopping in the scene. I’m sure they are really happy to be in this beautiful focal area of the room. They are the center of attention. This design evolved from a few floral pieces and bunnies to a detailed celebration of nature. After a recent windy day, I noticed several tree limbs/branches on the ground. I thought I could use them to make spring flower arrangements and at some point, I would spray paint them and add glitter (which maybe will happen for another project). But once I brought the pieces inside to clean them up, I began to admire the natural beauty. I decided to lay them out on the floor to create the pattern I wanted them to display once attached to the wall. Each piece naturally had an artistic element and all I needed to do was securely mount them on the wall and my little interior spring garden began to take shape. I hung eggs from the branches, added flowers and draped the lighted garland across the mirror and I had a beautiful spring wall display over the fireplace.

Birds, Florals, Colors, and Eggs

Designing a space typically begins with a color inspiration, a piece of art, a pattern, a desired theme or something of sentimental value. The kitchen nook Spring and Easter design has so many elements that all played a role in my design idea for the space. I have these bright red colors in this space that I absolutely love because they are bold, and they add such a presence to a small space. I also purchased red cardinals to decorate my home for Christmas to be a sentimental reminder of my loved ones who have taken their heavenly flight. Since the space already had red, I thought the birds would be a great way to bring in spring and serve as a reminder that my loved ones are always watching over me. As you will see in the photos and video, the birds are flying over the table.

Recreate a bold spring and easter space in your home using the recommended items inspired by my design. The DIY plate charger video is featured above if you would like to create a similar decorative piece for your table setting. I also created the garland over the window using eggs, florals, berries and greenery.
